FAQs

Can I get my ring resized if it doesn’t fit?

Please consider when your wedding day is and the importance of having a ring for the ceremony, a ring usually takes about two weeks to resize and we offer the free resizing service for 12 months after you've received it, so if time is tight and the ring loose, we can always resize it after your wedding.

What is the turnaround time for a wedding ring?

Each of our rings is made to order in the UK and so your wedding ring is usually dispatched within 14-21 working days of receiving your order. If you need it sooner, get in touch with us via WhatsApp or email support@joshuajames.com

What metal is best for a wedding ring?

All of our rings are made to a high standard using the finest quality metals, choosing the best metal for your wedding ring depends on personal preference, lifestyle, and the qualities you're looking for in your wedding ring. Yellow gold and rose gold have their own character and aesthetic appeal, but choosing between white gold and platinum can be a harder decision. If you're looking for durability and minimal maintenance, Platinum is often considered the best option. However, white gold has a slightly warmer hue, is a lighter metal which many find more comfortable, and gold as a whole is steeped in heritage. Discover the characters, properties and cultural significances of each metal with our metals guide.

How do I know it's real gold or platinum?

In the UK it is illegal to sell or describe any item as Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium unless it is hallmarked. The hallmark is struck by an independent assay office (in our case, the Birmingham Assay Office) and guarantees the precious metal content of your item. With regards to our zirconium rings, the zirconium itself isn't hallmarked, however if the ring contains a minimum of 1 gram of gold or 0.5 grams of platinum then by law, the precious metal has to be hallmarked. Precious metals are hallmarked to guarantee its quality, origin, and compliance, ultimately safeguarding both consumers and the integrity of the precious metals market.

Which finger does a wedding ring go on?

In most Western cultures, the wedding ring should be placed on the fourth finger on the left hand (the one next to your little finger). This tradition was made through the belief that a vein directed at the heart is found in this finger.
